Glasbläserkurse

In the spring and autumn semesters, we offer a glassblowing course for UZH researchers and technicians. Other UZH employees or researchers at other universities and colleges are also admitted. The course lasts 12 times 1.5 hours and takes place once a week.

Glass can be hot-formed or cold-worked. The course participant learns how to blow simple apparatus and artistic objects out of glass. The course demonstrates the various properties and possibilities of glass in the laboratory. You will learn how to melt ampoules under vacuum. Theoretical and practical knowledge about glass as a material is also imparted.

We are happy to cater to the wishes of the participants.

The course costs 150 and is held in German.

The course fee is usually covered by your institute. Then you can choose the option "von UZH". If you pay yourself, you can choose the "Normal" option.

The course lasts 12 times 1.5 hours and takes place weekly. The course demonstrates the various properties and possibilities of glass in the laboratory. The course participant learns to blow objects out of glass. Glass can be hot formed or cold worked. You learn how to melt ampoules under vacuum.
