Description
AI technologies are fundamentally transforming regulatory compliance and supervisory processes across the banking, insurance, asset management, and fintech sectors. Institutions face the challenge of balancing innovation with regulatory requirements and effective risk management. This development creates new demands regarding governance structures, processes, and the responsible use of new technologies. These challenges also require action from regulators. The FINMA, for instance, employs technology-driven, data-based applications in its supervisory activities and is leveraging AI to enhance its ability to monitor market behavior.
To take stock of the situation and discuss strategic options for Switzerland, the Center for Financial Market Regulation (CFMR) at the University of Zurich is hosting a conference titled "AI & Risk Management." The event features a lineup of distinguished speakers, including FINMA Chair Marlene Amstad and Alain Girard (Head of the Recovery and Resolution Division), as well as Prof. Rolf H. Weber (UZH), Prof. Seraina Grünewald (HSG), Prof. Marco Dell’Erba (UZH), Prof. Cornelia Stengel (Kellerhals Carrard), Prof. Aline Darbellay (UZH), and Prof. Kern Alexander (UZH). The event will be moderated by Prof. Katja Langenbucher (Goethe University Frankfurt) and Prof. Rolf Sethe (CFMR UZH).
