As a polycentric urban university with approximately 40,000 members, the University of Zurich relies on functioning, healthy, and resource-efficient mobility. Given the university's continued growth and the capacity limits of public transportation, we have developed a new mobility and transportation strategy.
The vision is clear: "The University of Zurich, as an urban university, connects people and places through healthy and resource-efficient mobility." The key areas of action have also been defined. Now, the focus is on bringing this strategy to life and developing concrete, effective measures for its implementation.
We invite you all – whether student, staff member, or local resident – to actively shape the future of mobility at the university and contribute your interests and ideas:
- Date: Wednesday, February 25, 2026
- Time: 1:15 p.m. – 4:45 p.m. (followed by refreshments)
- Location: Auditorium careum, Pestalozzistrasse 11, 8032 Zurich
What to expect: This afternoon, we will present the key aspects of the new mobility strategy. Together, in workshops, we will develop recommendations on how we can sustainably improve mobility at our campuses – from the city center to Irchel, Oerlikon, and Schlieren. Your feedback is crucial to making the strategy an effective tool for everyday university life.
