Description

This hands-on workshop introduces methods for automated content analysis and time-series text analytics in the humanities. Participants learn to detect historical trends, cultural shifts, and conceptual change using supervised and unsupervised models, as well as LLMs (e.g., GPT-5, LLaMA-3) for close reading at scale. The session emphasizes practical applications, combining demonstrations and coding exercises in R and Python. Participants are encouraged to bring their own datasets and research questions for discussion and analysis.

For any inquiries or if you have datasets you would like to analyze, you can send an email to: gerold.schneider@es.uzh.ch
