Description

This event aims to strengthen the dialogue between politics, society and academia on sustainability issues. You will gain insights into the sustainability strategy and current research projects at UZH and have the opportunity to raise your concerns directly during a Q&A session. The event will conclude with a panel discussion with high-profile international participants on the future of sustainability.

Prof. Dr. David Schimel (Research Scientist at NASA's Jet Propulsion Laboratory)
David Schimel contributed as convening lead author to the reports of the Intergovernmental Panel on Climate Change (IPCC), which was awarded the Nobel Peace Prize in 2007 together with Al Gore.

Prof. Dr. Sonia I. Seneviratne (Professor at the Department of Environmental Systems Science at ETH Zurich)
For her groundbreaking research on climate extremes and land-climate interactions, Sonia Seneviratne received the prestigious German Environmental Award, bestowed by the German Federal Environmental Foundation, in 2025.

Dr. Marco Lambertini (Convener of the Nature Positive Initiative)
The Nature Positive Initiative is a global alliance aiming to halt and reverse nature loss by 2030. Prior to his current role, Marco Lambertini served as Director General of WWF International and CEO of BirdLife International
