Event registration

With our event tool, participants can register for events using an online form. The guests receive a ticket for their smartphone or to print out when attending events on site, or receive the participation link when attending virtual events.

Events and contingents

The registration tool supports different event formats and several events (categories) can be used per registration page, each with a different time, place or implementation format (virtual/presence) if required. Depending on the settings, registration is possible for just one event or for several events at the same time. For each event, a contingent and a period can be set in which the participants can register. If an event is fully booked, there is the possibility to use a waiting list.

Paid events and participation groups

In addition to free events, registration with a participation fee is also possible (e.g. for conferences). Payment is made via a service of PostFinance, which supports debit & credit cards (Mastercard/Visa/Maestro), TWINT, PostFinance Card and PostFinance E-Finance. Our online registration tool also supports several participation groups, to which different events and prices can be shown (e.g. a reduced rate for students).

High flexibility

Individual information

The first name, last name and email address is required for each registration. When the participants log in with their edu-ID or AAI account, the personal data is entered automatically. Additional questions can be added if required (open-ended question, single choice, multiple choice or yes/no question). A group registration can also be activated.

Check in via QR code

Tickets and cancellation

After successful registration, participants of on-site events receive a ticket with a QR code for their smartphone (Apple Wallet and Google Wallet) or to print out. In the case of virtual events, a participation link and further meeting information can be shown, provided they are already available. Guests can also cancel their registration at any time if they can no longer participate in the event.

Admission control and participation links

There is a check-in option for on-site events, i.e. the barcode on the ticket can be scanned with a smartphone, tablet or laptop. The registration information is then displayed directly and the person can be checked in and checked out again later. In the case of virtual events, the participation link can be sent directly during registration or in the reminder email.

Email delivery

A confirmation email with the most important information is automatically sent when a participant registers or cancels an event. Optionally, a reminder e-mail can also be sent automatically, with a freely selectable date and time.

High data protection

All registrations remain within the University of Zurich and are not used for any other purpose or passed on to third parties. The registration pages are hidden by default and only people with the login link can register.
